Welcome to the Witchy Chicks

Welcome to the Witchy Chicks

In The Witching Hour by Yasmine Galenorn3 Comments

Long, long ago, in the year 2005, I (Yasmine) wanted to start a group blog. So with a dear friend, Linda Wisdom joining in, we founded the Witchy Chicks. We lasted five years, with anywhere from 5-9 members at any given time. We had a blast forming our community, and we built a little niche for us on the internet. Five years and hundreds of posts later, we realized it was time to let go. So the Witchy Chicks went silent, and we all moved on to other things.

Not long ago, I decided I wanted to reform the Witchy Chicks–new and better than before. Instead of Blogger, I wanted to use WordPress, and I wanted to build a strong community of writer friends for our readers, and to form a larger community for all of us. Not just tossing out promo posts, or posts lost to obscurity because of Facebook’s problematic algorithms, I wanted to create an engaged, interactive community.

It was then that I decided to mention it to Louisa–I had the feeling that we could work together. She runs the WitchyBookworms site, and a quarterly promotion for witchy books. It seemed like a natural fit to blend the two together. So we brainstormed and, bingo…here we are.

In the space of a month, we’ve pulled the new Witchy Chicks together, and now we invite you–our readers–in to chat and interact. We’ll have lots of fun content, round-robin stories, and more. Will we have some self-promotion? Yes, but we envision a bigger, stronger community that’s so much more. We have a newsletter that you can sign up for, a Facebook Group that you can join as an addition to the blog, (not a replacement for it). Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing the authors on the blog: Yasmine Galenorn (yes, me), Louisa West, Renee George, Robyn Peterman, Ann Gimpel, and Polly Holmes.

So pull up a chair, bookmark this blog, and sit back as the Witchy Chicks walk into the Witching Season!

  1. I am hoping Witchychicks is an all-gender inclusive site. I am not an Author, just a Pagan who likes books. Please let me know.
